The HP 8601A Generator Sweeper is a general purpose Generator and Sweeper, but bought specifically for use with the HP 8407A Network Analyser. The original cost was $3,300 in 1980. A HP Manual was downloaded from the Web. The serial number is much later than the downloaded HP Manual so several assemblies are different.

Specification
Frequency Range: 100kHz to 11MHz and 1MHz to 110MHz.
Ouput Level: +20dBm to -110dBm into 50Ω.
Carrier Wave (CW) output, or Fast, Slow and Manual Sweeps across the full range, part of the range, or symetrically around the CW frequency; all with varying sweep widths.
Internal or external AM or FM available.

Arrived with some obvious damage in transit. It needs a complete overhaul and some repair work to get this Unit fully operational, for details see Repair HP 8601A Generator Sweeper.

Repair work and performance tests completed.
