BLACK STAR "STACK"
Black Star of Huntingdon, Cambridge, was acquired by Thurlby Thandar Instruments (TTi) in 1999. Black Star made function generators, frequency counters, multimeters, oscilloscope probes, and some stranger but innovative bits of kit.

This is a mains powered Black Star 3210MP Multimeter. This can measure dc & ac voltage & current, plus resistance. It also has an audible tone on the lowest resistance range which is useful for 'buzzing-out' circuits. Now SOLD.

This is a mains powered Black Star 1410 Video Monitor Tester. It generates a variety of test signals or patterns for both tv/video and computer graphics with VGA and RGB outputs. Digital output on 9 way D-type, analogue output on 9 way D-type, analogue output on 15 way (3 row VGA) D-type, and R G B with composite and field syncs outputs on BNCs. A useful bit of kit for now obsolete analogue video and VGA monitors. Unfortunately it doesn't have DVI or HDMI outputs. Now SOLD.

This is a mains powered Black Star Orion PAL TV & Video Pattern Generator. It generates a variety of PAL television test signals with composite video and RF outputs. A useful bit of kit for now obsolete analogue TV and video. I have kept this just in case I ever need to generate analogue PAL signals again.

This is a mains powered Black Star Apollo 100MHz Universal Counter Timer. This Frequency Meter / Counter has a 8 digit red LED display and has a fairly versatile specification. Now SOLD.

This is a mains powered Black Star Jupiter 2000 Function Generator. This can produce sine, square, triangle and TTL waveforms between 0.2Hz and 2MHz with an amplitude up to 20Vpp. Variable offset of ±10Vdc, variable symmetry and an external sweep input are also provided. Outputs are TTL, 50Ω and 600Ω. A useful function generator. Now SOLD.

Other models were the Jupiter 500 which only went up to 500kHz and the Jupiter 2010 which included a frequency counter.
